Relationships are hard! It doesn’t matter what relationship we’re talking about—relationships are hard. A few minutes ago, we watched as two sisters collided after years of hurt feelings and pent up bitterness. Hostility reigned in that relationship! Years of joyful memories and glad celebrations were lost because of one moment—one decision. What was that decision? It was when one sister assumed the worst from the other and retaliated with hurtful words. When we make assumptions about others, we typically assume the worst. Why? The answer is inside us!

Daniel must have set an outstanding example. Darius characterized Daniel as ‘serving’ his God ‘continually.’ He had noticed Daniel’s lifestyle. In order for believers to impress the world, they must live a consistent Christian life.
Daniel was one of the three heads designated to supervise the other officials. Regardless of the manner in which Daniel rose to power in the new administration, Darius was extremely impressed with him and planned to set him over all the other officials in the kingdom.
Overcoming the fear of uncertainty can be accomplished by keeping our focus on the eternal. When we keep an eternal perspective on life, we are more readily able to see God’s plans for our lives. God’s plan for our lives almost always involve trials, tribulations, challenges and difficulties; but if Jesus is IN us, we have nothing to fear for He is renewing our spirits day by day.
