Behold the Lamb in Old Testament Prophecy

As we continue our series today—Behold the Lamb of God—we’re going to be looking at one section of prophecy in the Book of Isaiah concerning the coming king of Israel. But this king that Isaiah prophesied about was not a king “full of power with a sword in his fist,” he was a king that would be despised and rejected, a man of sorrow. Jesus would not be the Messiah/King that the Jews were wanting or expecting, but He would be exactly who the prophets foretold would come. He would be exactly what we needed in the way of a Savior and Redeemer. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Let’s look to Isaiah to see the purpose and plan for the Christ-child.
